Stuttgart Ballet

The Stuttgart Ballet rose to international prominence in the 1960s under the choreographer John Cranko, whose dramatic full-length ballets — "Onegin", "Romeo and Juliet" and "The Taming of the Shrew" — ignited what became known as the "Stuttgart Ballet miracle". Cranko’s legacy nurtured an extraordinary generation of dancers and choreographers, including Marcia Haydée, John Neumeier, Jirí Kylián and William Forsythe, making Stuttgart one of the most influential incubators of choreographic talent in the world. Resident at the Stuttgart State Theatre, the company continues to honour the Cranko repertoire while commissioning new work, sustaining its reputation as a home of intelligent, deeply theatrical dance.
